*Posting an old review so I can link it to my portfolio*

Arizonian hardcore warriors, Blessthefall are one of those bands destined to become famous and it certainly seems as though they’re right on track with doing so. Since their debut full length ‘His last walk’ was released back in 2007, the band have had a multitude of successes including reaching #32 in the US billboard charts with ‘His last walk’, touring with bands such as Escape the Fate, Protest the Hero & Silverstein, the band also completeted the entire circuit of 2007’s Warped tour.
After the departure of vocalist Craig Mabbitt in late 2007, the band continued to tour with bassist Jared Warth filling in on vocals, and eventually the band announced they had found their new frontman in ex vocalist of Take the Crown, Beau Bokan. There was a lot of anticipation for the bands next album and to see how new vocalist Beau would shape up compared to Mabbitt.
Disappointed is the only way to desribe the feeling I got when I listened to the bands new album ‘Witness’. Although It is well written, and follows the ‘signiture’ blessthefall sound that we all came to love with ‘His last Walk’. With only a few songs (Skinwalker, Stay Still, To Hell and Back, Hey Baby, here’s that song you wanted), that really get you going, make you want to sing along and go completely crazy and with Bokan following the same style as and even sounding very similar to old singer Craig mabbit, it’s not really anything to get too excited about. ‘2.0’, the first track on the album, sounds almost exactly like Mabbits former band, ‘the word alive’s’ song Cassanova Rodeo, it seems as though the boys in Blessthefall have let themselves down with an album that somewhat lacks in originality & majoritarily is unable to keep listeners interested for longer than a couple of listens, and has not quite lived up to the anticipation surrounding its release.

8X12 & 4X6 prints of Motionless in White/ Pierce the Veil and Blessthefall are now available at my bigcartel!
By far my favourite pass of the year. I will never ever forget that night even though I totally forgot that Chris & Ricky also signed my scrapbook/portfolio & that Chris complimented my eyebrows, which is pretty damn awesome coming from him! The past few months have made me so happy. I can’t wait for next year, upwards and onwards :)
I went through the photos from BTF/PTV/MIW the other week to see if I’d missed anything worth editing and came across this one of Jaime Preciado of Pierce the Veil.
Less of a bastard to edit than all my other PTV shots from that night (of which there is only 2 other fully edited/published ), the lighting was really overpowering for their entire set, lots of red, blue & Yellow solid lighting, YUCK.
Anyways, enjoy!

15/10/11 - Blessthefall/Pierce the Veil/Motionless in White @ Relentless Garage, London.
Motionless in White are a band who I hold quite close to my heart. As with most of their fans each of us relate to the band in some way or another, weather it be a general love of their music or the messages they preach. For me, it’s a mixture of both, at first I only listened to them because I enjoyed the music and later started listening to what was being said. I have been through a lot of shit in my short 19 years and although many, many bands write songs about all the problems we go through in life, no one has put those problems into words quite like M.I.W have. For the most part their music has helped motivate me to keep my head up high and be the person I want to be for myself, and nobody else. As cliche as it will sound, I honestly would not be the person I am now without them and I have never been able to say that about anyone, band or individual ever before.
So, as you can imagine, finally getting to see them and being able to photograph them was a pretty big deal for me. I don’t really get excited about going to gigs anymore because most of the time I am not too into the bands I shoot, however, this is one very big exception. This gig was on my mind constantly (and still is) for weeks before hand, I didn’t sleep the entire night before because I was excited and nervous as hell. It was their first night in the UK, the show was sold out and they put on an amazing show. The crowd went crazy for them!
I was fortunate enough to meet Chris after the show and I can hands down say he was one of, if not the nicest musician I have ever met, it was a complete honour and a total pleasure to converse with him.
Pierce the Veil are a band I’ve never actually gotten around to listening to, while I still can’t say i’m a fan, they are a crazy bunch of guys who put on an awesome show for their fans. Great, great fun to shoot! And I won’t lie, their cover of “G6” was brilliant! Totally did not expect that but they pulled it off so well! I ran in to Vic after the show and he too was a pleasure to chat to.
Blessthefall headlined, I’ve not heard BTF since “Witness” was released so it was really cool to get to hear the new material. They were fantastic to say the least, they’ve definitely come a long way in the past couple of years, Beau managed to lose 2 shirts and his in-ear monitors to the crowd.
The gig on a whole was incredible, I honestly can’t say I’ve been to a show with that kind of atmosphere and energy before. It really restored my faith in the music scene here in the UK and encouraged me even more to keep going with shooting gigs. If you’ve not had a chance to check out any of these bands yet, they are absolutely worth going to see and deserve your attention.
