“In Ruins are my local heroes purely for the fact that they are one of the very, very few bands in my area who I will go out of my way to see because they never fail to put on a great show. They’ve only been a band coming up 2 years now and have come in leaps and bounds since forming. They’re all very passionate about what they do and are always looking for ways to improve their music & their live shows, I’ve seen them quite a few times now and I can honestly say that there’s never a dull moment when you’re watching them & they’ve performed amazingly everytime I’ve seen them.

On a whole, I’m not too big a fan of the new wave hardcore type bands who seem to be appearing by the shedload at the moment and whilst In Ruins are a band I would lump into that catergory, they’re definitely not as monotonous or predictable as lot of these bands are which makes them pretty fun to listen to. They don’t over complicate anything but they don’t simplify anything either, they have an absolutely insane drummer who’s helped to step their game up by several notches, more so than a lot of bands have done over several more years of existence. They’re also not a band to act like total knobends when they receive negative feedback, they take everything they hear in their stride and use it to improve themselves especially when such criticism is coming from close friends.

From all the local bands around right now, In Ruins are definitely the band I feel have the most potential to go places. They put 110% into everything they do and this is evident in their songs & their performance from start to finish as well as being a band who genuinely appreciate the oppurtunities they are given, which is a very rare quality for a band these days even if they do try to convince people that the case is otherwise.”
